Behaviour Consultations

These are very detailed and done with a hollistic approach. The horses environment, management and diet will all be looked at. Often some simple changes in husbandary can have a huge impact on behaviour.

Before the consultation I will contact your own vet for the horses history. This is very important as veterinary issues can often cause changes in behaviour. As a vet I will also look at your horse and if I feel their are any veterinary issues that need addressing I will refer you back to your own vet. Once you decide to book a consultation with me both you and your vet will need to fill in a form.
​
Any behavioural issue, however big or small can be looked at. Some issues can be resolved quickly and may only need one session. Others may take significant time and retraining.

Initial Behaviour Consultations (in person) include;
​
Initial short (free) phone conversation to discuss your horses needs and see how I can help. You can send me a short video prior to this to show your horses issues (this is optional).
​
Consultation, where I visit your yard, or you can bring your horse to my yard. This will last approximately 2 hours.
​
A personalised plan to help you and your horse. I will send a short email summary of this.
This will include homework for you to work on with your horse.

Initial Remote Behaviour Consultation includes;​
​
(If you live a long distance away its possible to do a consultation over phone or zoom. Its helpful to send me a video showing the issues prior to this)
​
Phone/zoom call consultation/video assessment.
​
A personalised plan to help you and your horse. I will send a short email summary of this.
This will include homework for you to work on with your horse.

Follow up Behaviour consultations for the same issue includes;
​
In person or zoom/phone call to assess how you are getting on and help further. A video of you and your horse working on the homework may be sent prior to this (optional).

Areas covered
I am based near Gretna (Scottish Borders). Travel time of more than an hour will be charged.

Initial Behaviour Consultation(in person) - £300 plus vat and travel *
​
Initial Remote Behaviour Consultation - £200 plus vat
​
Follow up Behaviour consultations (same issue) - £75/hour plus vat and travel * and £50/hour plus vat remotely.
​
*Travel - 50p/mile from DG16.
Travel time over 1 hour will be charged at £30/hour plus vat.
